It was that time yesterday. A new film. This time it was the long awaited film: The Simpsons – Movie. It has been described as a 1½ hour long episode, and I have to agree with this assessment. Not that it’s a bad thing, it’s actually a good thing. Films today usually reach beyond the 2+ hour mark (some 3+), but in most instances these films are just a “show-off” by the CGI/SFX like: Hey, look what we can do… Not that impressive film wise.
The Simpsons – Movie is a perfect amount of the deranged comedy that one is used to from the series. The big difference is in two major parts:
- They have put a lot more time in the animation of the characters and surroundings. It looks very nice and they are moving more smoothly.
- They could do things that normaly would be impossible to squeeze into a “normal” 21 minute show, even with a “to be continued…”
Well, I laughed (but then I’m easily amused…), and it’s a film that I would watch again tonight if I had the time. Unfortunately I have a date with a book about mass transfers in conduits and pipes (very exiting ;)) I’ll leave you with a image that is rightfully stolen from the web 🙂
